Damn!
I should know not to make notes in shorthand after I've had a couple of cocktails.
During the Nursery Rhyme/Dr. Suess party last night I uttered what was probably the most off-the-cuff, type-before-you-really-think-it-through one-liners...and it worked. It was good enough to even get Syri to chime in over a song with a snicker.
All I can remember is that it involved several people commenting on liking P!nk the singer, then a sexual reference to something pink and my response was something like "I like pink, just not necessarily in my face".
Damn vodka. Oh well. Lesson learned. Full notes from now on!
I didn't even get a picture! It was a hot party. As usual, I stressed about what to wear. I came up with a Peter Cottontail-ish outfit and then Baz got me liking the idea of the hare racing the tortoise. He asked where the tortoise was and I said something like "He's still at the fuckin' race, I'm here to party."

Belated Mardi Gras...
Well, this year I was sick for Mardi Gras and had to forego my usual celebration at Shiggs (RL reference, I don't expect anyone to get that). So, I was pleased to find out that Jake's was having a Mardi Gras celebration the weekend after.
As usual, I had lots of fun, here are a few pics I managed to take:

Next to nothing...
...is what I wore to the "Anything But Clothes" Party at Jake's on Saturday. I was a little stressed, my selection of prims/attachments is pretty scarce. This is what I came up with:

Next to nothing is also about what I got to experience. I crashed a few times. Either my internet connection or pc is acting up. After the third, I gave up and called it a night. I still had a great time. It was fun to see what everyone came up with.
The one thing that wasn't next to nothing? The contest prize. My last glance saw that it was around 25069 L$! Unbelievable. I wonder who ended up winning?
Obvisously, not me. Guess they're lucky I didn't stick around.

Ok, even I can't keep a straight face on that one.

Valentine's Day
I was not looking forward to Valentine's Day on SL. No partner and no friend to accompany me. I thought I had a prospect, bought tickets to an event at Jake's and the prospect kinda fizzled.
But I showed up anyway. Not at all what I was expecting. First I learned that I was paired up with someone. Pol Lockjaw. I was a little nervous at first. I take a little while to get comfortable and chatty, but I just went with it and before too long we were having a pleasant conversation.
We were served wine, choice of appetizer, main course and dessert. Pol was sweet and charming, I couldn't believe he didn't have a date for the evening. After that we did some dancing.
SL wasn't entirely on our side. He crashed a few times and I crashed (well, got a little dozy...it was getting late RL) once. By the time I came back he had moved on. We still chatted in IM and the pleasantries continued. The party had started to get going at Jakes, of came the suits and tuxes...on went the skimpy outfits typical for a Saturday night at Jakes.
In the end it was a wonderful evening. I'm glad Jake and Baz matched Pol and I up. I've made a new friend. Hopefully a lasting one. Here are a few pics:

Well, this will have to do.
Yet another fun night at Jake's. The theme last night was Boy Scouts. I had a terrible time finding an outfit. I'd really like to know where some people found their outfits. In the end, it had gotten so late that I just found a pair of cargo shorts that were that lovely "boy scout" olive green color and some boots. Worked out alright. I really need to take time to really go shopping for these theme nights...earlier than an hour after the party has started.

Back to the subject at hand. There was a contest and the prize was set at $6969. DJ Syri made the comment "and who wouldn't love a little 69?". My reply was (drum roll please) "I'll take a 68 and I'll owe ya one". Actually, I'm a very giving person. I'd probably end up being the one "owed one".
Thank you. I'm here all week.

Will I ever learn?
So, popped onto SL tonight. I wanted to unwind after a day of getting ready for and having a Super Bowl party. In typical fashion, too much food, too few guests...but it was all good.
Back to the story. I logged on, put on my generic outfit. Looked for the usual Sunday night pool party at Jake's. Saw there was quite a crowd in the main club area, so I TP'd. By the time everyone's images loaded, I could see suits and gowns...just beautiful people. I asked Jake what was going on, turns out it was a wedding reception...that as far as I could tell, I hadn't been invited to.
This has happened before. I have a few friends that are nice enough to allow me to locate them on the map. One night I dropped in and immediately could tell I walked in on a serious moment. Very awkward. I swore I'd never just "drop in" again...ever.
But tonight, it was the club. There were A LOT of people. Why not, right?
Oh well. The groom was gracious and sure that he invited me. He may have been being nice. I threw on a suit and just had fun. It was a nice way to end the weekend.

Not the best pic of me, but I still think I clean up nice. ;)
